Finding a pediatrician can be overwhelming, either when you’re an expectant parent or have moved away from your pediatrician. New parents aren’t sure how to even begin and relocated families are concerned about finding a practice you trust and who your child feels comfortable with, like your previous practitioner.
You don’t just want an acceptable relationship with a pediatric practice. You want a practice that feels like family, that answers your questions with compassion and patience – no matter how many you ask – and you want evidence-based, fully researched care for your children.
Bay Street Pediatrics can be the answer for your pediatric practice search!
Dr. Lori Smith is a board certified pediatrician and has led Bay Streets Pediatrics for over 22 years. She graduated from George Washington University Medical School and completed her residency at Yale Children’s Hospital. Mom of four, Dr. Lori has a deep understanding of children beyond just their physical health. She is a vibrant speaker to parenting groups and contributor to parenting publications. Dr. Lori has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor each and every year since 2015, and is consistently rated as a Connecticut Magazine Top Doctor.
Dr. Nicole Ambramowitz is also a Connecticut Magazine Top Doctor. Dr. Nicole graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and also completed her residency there. She has worked in pediatric primary care for nearly 16 years. Mom to two boys, Dr. Nicole says that being a mother has made her a better, more compassionate pediatrician. She works at a sleepaway camp in the Berkshires each summer, rejuvenating through both the gift of nature and the robust enthusiasm of the children and teens she cares at the camp.
Dr. Maya Fisher is a board-certified pediatrician who graduated from the New York Medical College and completed her pediatric residency at Cohn Children’s Medical Center on Long Island. She worked in primary care in NYC until her family’s move to Fairfield County. As a new mom, Dr. Maya is excited to care from families and children, and to connect as a neighbor as well. Dr. Maya loves to hike, travel and cook. She is fluent in Russian and also speaks Spanish.
You’ll enjoy the “mom and pop” feeling of our practice, as each patient and family is treated just as we would treat our own family members. We will always give you the time you need to ask questions and will give you thorough answers. If something needs clarification, we will give you every detail you require. We love getting to know our patients and their families and hearing about what gets them excited – be it baseball, skateboarding, Pokemon or PAW Patrol.
Our board-certified physicians and nurses are highly trained and educated, maintaining the highest levels of pediatric accreditations. Our examinations, diagnoses and treatments are guided by the latest research and standards for all children, from infancy through the teenage years.
Your child will be protected against life-changing, preventable diseases according to the American Academy of Pediatrics vaccination schedule. We can also make accommodations within those guidelines for children who may have special circumstances. We offer comprehensive breastfeeding support while standing by the philosophy that “fed is best.”
When your child is sick or injured, your phone call to our office – even when our office is closed, will be returned by a Bay Street physician, giving you the confidence that your child’s emergent situation will be handled quickly, by someone who knows your child and their history and is personally engaged with your family. Bay Street Pediatrics is affiliated with Norwalk Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, and Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
